The Birthday Girl

So our youngest dd is 4 this month! Normally in the past we tried to keep birthday and x~mas presents at $50.00 each. This year money has opened up a bit more so I told the kids $100.00 each and that is it! That adds up quickly when you have 5 kids. Well her birthday falls in December so basically $200.00

Well back in late October or so Joey seen a Barbie Big Wheels car for her at Costco, $189.99. I checked the other stores and seen them for like $235.00-$250.00! I told him to get it as soon as he got off work! Good thing we did. A few days later there were no more and have not been in that store since!

But how to split that up between birthday and Christmas? lol We found a kitchen playset at Walmart for surprisingly only $38.00! We also wanted to get her some stuffed animals. SO we got her a bear rug for $15.00 and a pack of 7 bears for like $10.00 from Costco.

Well we celebrated last Saturday. Home made cake, 2 different kinds of ice cream, hot dogs, nachos and lots of nachos with nacho cheese sauce! Yeah I am glad all the food is gone. lol Here are some pics of her in her new ride. Oh and yes those are garage couches.

Yeah I know, now we are spending like $255.00! She wants a baby doll too. *sigh* Maybe she needs to write a letter to Santa cause I don't want to go broke! lol What are you getting your kids for christmas?

WOW! My dd's birthday is in December too and she will be 4 this year too! Happy Birthday to your dd! Isn't fun having to worry about birthday AND Christmas?? NOT! LOL! I found a Strawberry Shortcake puzzle and a coloring book at the Dollar Tree for her this year.

That sounds good. I used to love Strawberry Shortcake when I was little. I found some Hello Kitty note pads, purse, pens in the $1.00 at Target recently and picked them up as an x~mas present for our niece who is 6.

Wow, it must be COLD where you live! Happy birthday! The car looks fun.

All four of our kids' birthdays are between late September and mid February, so I know what you mean about the timing! The kid in September is best off, the one in Dec. tends to get Tswallowed up by Christmas, and by the time the two birthdays roll around in Feb. we are in "spend as little as possible" mode. Thankfully, my husband's business is best in Jan and Feb, so it's not too bad.

This year, my mom in germany decided to send me money for John's birthday and for christmas because the shipping costs are so ridiculous. She sent $130 for his birthday. Then last week she sent $130 for each of the kids for christmas, as well as money for my husband and me - a total of 700! She refused to let me put some of the money in the kids' savings accounts, so we basically are not giving the kids anything except for misc. little things I have been collectig throughout the year when I found them for a great deal. I am also making them all mathching PJs - they LOVE that. It's the same print, on yellow for the boys and on purpel for the girl. My mom did give me some ideas of what she wanted me to get the kids, and I bought it all. Solomon is getting a really nice wooden marble run (quadrilla twist), Isaac got a fireman costume, and is still getting a lego duplo police station, patrol car, and post office, John is getting a bunch of different playmobil 1 2 3 sets and Miriam is getting several really nice wooden teethers and rattles from Germany. We also bought her a Kaethe Kruse doll. Then I bought myself a really nice new digital camera out of the rest of the money. There are countless packages under the tree, and I don't know if that is good or bad. The kids can't hardly wait. John asked me when he went to nap if it would be Christmas when he woke up...

Thanks. Well we live in Cali so not too cold but when the wind blows and you factor in wind chill it was pretty cold that day. lol

WOW That is really nice!!! Yeah we sent a small package over seas to our niece and her mom and her husband in Holland and it was $18.00! lol All that was in there was 3 small stuffed animals and a purse and some chocolate. haha

Well I am sure the kids will be thrilled with what you picked out for them. :) That sounds good.

You deserve a new camera. I finally found ours and now just need to op some battery's in. :) Maybe it will be better than my camera phone. I'd hope.

Yeah our kids have already opened some of theirs last friday. They were just too excited.

I hope you all have a blessed Christmas!!
